The Porcelain Room

That’s All Folks

The Porcelain Room is closed.
“I’m hanging up my apron strings and the super hardworking Faye Beethat many of you know from working here and The West Cork Gourmet Store (and nearly every other eaterie in West Cork) is soon opening a brand new restaurant of her own here.

I want to say a huge thank you to all my suppliers especially John Barry whose delicious meat made ‘Beef Penang ‘ our signature dish, Clayton from the Fish Station, Richard the veg man and James from West Coast foods.

I couldn’t have asked for more wonderful staff over the years. Their commitment, hard work ethic and good humour under pressure have made them all a pleasure to work with. Thank you Aine Carava, Evie Morgan, Hugo Morgan, Fionnuala Solomon, Flo Mc Carthy Doig, Luc Parson, Brendan Canty, Caitlin Harris, Sophia Cassidy-Eulitz and Faye Bolger. X xxx xxx

Finally the utmost gratitude to all of my loyal customers, Thank you for your patronage.
It’s been a pleasure. X”

Ballydehob

Ballydehob, the Gateway to the Mizen Peninsula in West Cork is the best of many worlds. It's rural charms, rich heritage and natural beauty epitomise the traditional Ireland that visitors love so much. It is also unabashedly and confoundingly modern in its diversity of people and trade. The area is well known for its artists, writers and alternative types. Now it is home to a growing number of innovators and trend setters, some who found it and couldn't leave, many who left and came back, and mostly those who held down the fort for the rest of us. Our home is rich in tradition, culture, music and craft nestled on Roaringwater Bay along the Wild Atlantic Way. Have we got a story for you! Pull up a stool.
