Ballydehob Community Council Newsletter

ISSUE : November 2010

A number of meetings with our local public representatives have taken place with the Ballydehob Area Community Council Ltd. Members regarding the funding for the removal of the large build up of silt / slob between the three arch bridge and the walkway by the pier. The condition of Ballydehob pier has been on the agenda for a number of years and in particular the lack of commitment from Cork County Council regarding the upkeep of the pier and the poor condition of the easterly steps in particular.

Ballydehob Area Community Council Ltd is very much in support of the pier being resurfaced as this has been promised for some time. The message coming from our public representatives is that money will shortly be available through a number of grants coming on stream. Further updates to follow.

At the October meeting of Ballydehob Area Community Council Ltd a very important issue was clarified in that Ballydehob Tidy Towns Association members clearly clarified that they are completely separate and independent to the Ballydehob Area Community Council Ltd.
