Fastnet Maritime & Folk Festival

This music festival brings folk artists from England and Ireland to Ballydehob each June for a jovial mix of contemporary and traditional music with a maritime twist. Coordinator Dick Miles involves the community with local schools providing maritime-themed displays and participating in a gala performance in Ballydehob Community Hall. Other highlights include the endless stream of respected folk musicians that inconspicuously amble through the village, the popular Sing-arounds and spontaneous sessions.
Supported by IMRO, Ballydehob Community Council, Cork County Council and the local community. The Ballydehob Fastnet Maritime Folk Festival takes place every June.

Ballydehob, the Gateway to the Mizen Peninsula in West Cork is the best of many worlds. It's rural charms, rich heritage and natural beauty epitomise the traditional Ireland that visitors love so much.
It is also unabashedly and confoundingly modern in its diversity of people and trade. The area is well known for its artists, writers and alternative types. Now it is home to a growing number of innovators and trend setters, some who found it and couldn't leave, many who left and came back, and mostly those who held down the fort for the rest of us.
Our home is rich in tradition, culture, music and craft nestled on Roaringwater Bay along the Wild Atlantic Way.
