Community Council Shop

Community Shop

Ballydehob community shop on Main Street, Ballydehob, sells a wide variety of second hand items including clothes, paintings, shoes, electrical items, ware, furniture etc. The shop is also a Failte Ireland ‘Visitor Information Point’.
The way the shop works is that if someone has a good quality item they want to sell for a nominal fee the shop will add a mark up and try to sell the item (with the exception of clothes and books). This way everyone is happy. The community shop is there to make a profit and all monies collected by the community council are put back into the community.
We very much welcome any item that can be donated to the shop and we thank all the volunteers most sincerely that give up their time each week to run the shop. Volunteers are always welcome. Please support the Ballydehob Community Shop.

Ballydehob, the Gateway to the Mizen Peninsula in West Cork is the best of many worlds. It's rural charms, rich heritage and natural beauty epitomise the traditional Ireland that visitors love so much. It is also unabashedly and confoundingly modern in its diversity of people and trade. The area is well known for its artists, writers and alternative types. Now it is home to a growing number of innovators and trend setters, some who found it and couldn't leave, many who left and came back, and mostly those who held down the fort for the rest of us. Our home is rich in tradition, culture, music and craft nestled on Roaringwater Bay along the Wild Atlantic Way. Have we got a story for you! Pull up a stool.
