Established in 2009, the Fit-up Theatre Festival is based on the original fit-ups of the 1950’s and was developed to provide rural communities, where there is a lack of accessibility to professional theatre, an opportunity to sample some of the wealth and talent professional theatre has to offer.

Ballydehob, the Gateway to the Mizen Peninsula in West Cork is the best of many worlds. It's rural charms, rich heritage and natural beauty epitomise the traditional Ireland that visitors love so much.
It is also unabashedly and confoundingly modern in its diversity of people and trade. The area is well known for its artists, writers and alternative types. Now it is home to a growing number of innovators and trend setters, some who found it and couldn't leave, many who left and came back, and mostly those who held down the fort for the rest of us.
Our home is rich in tradition, culture, music and craft nestled on Roaringwater Bay along the Wild Atlantic Way.
